Description
Original World War II veteran grave / memorial marker featuring a spread‑wing American eagle and the dates 1941 – WWII – 1945 in raised lettering. This heavy cast metal plaque was issued by a county government to honor local veterans and is marked on the back “PRESENTED BY ___ COUNTY COMMISSIONERS” with space for the county name to be added.
This example appears to be unused old stock – it was never mounted or placed in the ground and still shows crisp detail with no names or county inscription filled in. The rear has three integral mounting lugs for attaching to a post, rod, or other memorial surface.
Please review all photos for exact condition. Light storage wear, minor surface marks, and casting irregularities are present from age and manufacture, but there are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. Great piece for a militaria collection, local history display, or to use as a replacement marker for a WWII veteran’s grave
